Wall Street Journal: The Bush administration sharply increased its cost estimate for building and operating the first national repository for spent nuclear fuel, throwing a potential curveball into the political debate over the project’s future. The Department of Energy said that building the planned repository at Yucca Mountain in Nevada — as well as operating it and transporting spent nuclear fuel there — will cost $96.2 billion through the time it is sealed in 2133.
